The season is drawing to an end with only a few matches to play in the various leagues.
Team Reports
North Wales Coast League
The 'A' team are at the foot of section A with four games to play and if they don't pull their finger out they could be playing in section B against the 'B' team next season who are presently 4 points clear at the top of section C but have to play 2 of the other top teams away.
Llandudno and District League
Both the A+B teams in section A are safe in mid table positions. It has been the policy of Gareth Hughes (A team Captain) to give a juniors the opportunity of playing in the team and they have acquitted themeselves well.
Welsh Counties
The team battle on and are still strong enough to support the rest of division 2 on their shoulders.
Gwynedd Senior Citizens League
The team are 5th in Division A and are likely to stay in that position.
Llandudno and District Junior League
Several matches have had to be postponed and in a recent match they lost 5-1 against Penmaenmawr.
Open Competitions
Bryn Hughes represented Wales in the finals of the British Junior Merit in Derbyshire on the 16th August. He played well to reach the quarter finals , losing to the eventual runner-up.
THE DICKEN CUP

Keith Williams (Penmaenmawr) had a thrilling last end victory to beat 14 year old Daniel Jones 21-20. There was never more than an end's difference between them as they battled neck and neck to 20 all. Daniel was lying 2 the last end before Keith came in with his cup winning final bowl. In the semi final Keith beat Antony Bailey (Llanrwst) 21-12 while Daniel beat Welsh Merit Champion John Bailey (Llanrwst) 21-20. Llandudno Town Mayor Cllr Sylvia Barrett presented the prizes.
THE CRAIG-Y-DON JUNIOR CHALLENGE CUP SPONSOED BY GERAINT JONES AND CO. 31ST JULY
A good entry was received for the third running of this competition with competitors from as far afield as Cheshire and Lancashire. There was a good standard of bowling with Craig-y-Don youngster Bryn Hughes beating Aaron Harrison (Burnley) in a closely fought final. The losing semi finalists were Dion Jones (Penmaenmawr) and Chris Pearson (Rhos-on-Sea). There was also a prize for the highest break and this went to Gavin Langford (Menai Bridge). The date of next years competition is Thursday 5th August, 2004.

Club Competitions
President's Junior Prize
With the influx of nine new junior members the Club President decided to introduce a President's Junior Prize and the parents were also invited to support their offspring. The winner was Neil Eardley who beat Glyn Knowles in the final. The losing semi -finalists were Daniel Jackson and Jason Jones.

HARRY CROMIE JUNIOR SHIELD COMPETITION
Club member Harry Cromie kindly donated a shield.medals and prizes for a new junior competition and the first winner was Jason Jones who beat Rob Knowles in the final. The losing semi-finalists were Byron Roberts and Danny Jackson.

H L WILLIAMS MEMORIAL SALVER

Bryn Hughes beat his father Gareth Hughes 21-13 in a 'no quarter given' final. The wife of the late H L Williams, Mrs Williams,sons Tom and John together with their wifes were in attendance. Tom Williams presented the prizes and the losing semi-finalists were Steve Ruscoe and Graham Bird. The competition's first winner in 1969 was Huw Hughes, Bryn's Grandfather. Gareth also won it in 1996 and 1998.
FRANK KERSHAW VETERANS TROPHY
J Derek Jones beat Bob Coulter to win the Frank Kershaw Veteran's Trophy. The Chairman J H Parry Jones presented the prizes and the losing semi-finalists were George Hesford and Graham Bird.

DAN OWEN MERIT COMPETITION
There were 16 entrants for this competition and it was pleasing to see that the standard of the juniors is improving as out of the 4 juniors who entered 3 made it to the last 4 stage. Graham Bird won the competition beating young Jason Jones in the final. The losing semi-finalists were Rob Knowles and Carl Roberts.
