TEAM REPORTS

Llandudno and District League

The B team had a good win against Rhos Park 'B' 9-3 and this takes them above the 'A' team in the section 'A' table. The 'C' team lead Section 'B' by 11 points but some of the trailing teams have games in hand.

North Wales Coast League

The 'A' team are currently a well placed second in section 'B'. While the 'B' team are lying fourth in section 'C' six points behind leaders Holyhead. Juniors Bryn Hughes and Dan Jones continue to improve. They are both winning some good games and impressing opposing team members with their skill and the spirit in which they play their matches.

Welsh Counties League

The team is struggling third from bottom with the only high point being a good 8-2 win over Llanfair PG at home. Esclusham easily disposed of us in the first round of the cup (Gary Roberts the only winner for CYD) . Hopefully we will fair better in the consolation cup. Bryn Hughes played extremely well to win his first away match for the team at Penmaenmawr.

Bangor and District Senior Citizens League

We have not seen the official table but believe that we are top after beating Criccieth 9-0 at home. A very good start in our first year in the league. The following have been selected to represent the league against Clwyd - Stan Rothwell, Tony Davies and Terry Hampton with Graham Bird and Irene Rothwell picked as reserves.

Gwynedd Cup

The team beat Caernarfon quite easily last week and now play Bangor in the Semis (14/6)

CLUB COMPETITIONS

Dave Massey (Club President) beat Keith Sandford 21-14 to win the William Howard Rose Bowl. The losing semi finalists were Bill Bailey and Alan Williams.

OPEN COMPETITIONS

The CYD pairing of Gary Roberts and Gareth Williams won their second competition of the season when they won the new Round Robin Pairs Competition at CYD , sponsored by Emlyn Roberts Funeral Directors. They came from 13-17 down to beat Glen Magill and Brian Chamberlain 21-17 in a close fought final. There was also a plate competition won by Hwyfa Roberts and O P Williams (Llanfair PG) who deafeated John Steen and Terry Hampton of CYD 21-15 in the final. All players seemed to enjoy this new format competition.
