Dicken Cup
The Dicken cup was a great
success in its new format of a one day competition on two greens.
The winner was Tony Throup from Yorkshire who played very well all day beating county bowler Lee Lawton of Manchester 21- 13 in the final.
Dave Massey and Gary Roberts of CYD both reached the last 8 stage.

British Merit Finals
Roger Morgan was unlucky to go out 21-20 in the last 16 at Llay. Many supporters from CYD were ther to see Matt Gilmore from the Wirral beat the favorite Graham Wilson in the Final.
Welsh Junior Merit Finals
Bryn Hughes and Dan Jones both gave a very good account of themselves at Bersham. Bryn lost in the semi finals. Hopefully they will both win this title in the years to come.
Gwynedd Cup Final
Craig-y-Don gave favorites Deganwy a big scare when they lost by the narrowest of margins in the final played on President Jim Mckay's Penmaenmawr green. After the first 4 blocks CYD were 9 behind, Gary Roberts and Terry Hampton being good winners in the first 4. When Gareth Williams came off next having won 21-13 there was only 1 point in it. The last 3 games were all very close affairs with John Steen being another winner for CYD but unfortunately we just lost overall by 6 points. A very good team performance was watched by a good crowd of supporters from CYD who joined the players in a buffet after the match, where Jim McKay did us proud.
