CYD
NEWSLETTER
The club reopened at the end of March and enjoyed sunny but cool weather until the league season opened when April showers returned.
Phase 1 of the ground improvements has been completed and the grant from the NEW HORIZONS TRUST has been spent.. The Trust has been designed to give retired people an opportunity to share their interests, skills and talents in developing and carryiing out projects of their choosing. The programme encourages the development of creative lesiure time activities, self-determination and democratic decision making.
The project involved improving two areas either side of the clubhouse and laying two patios to provide seating areas with tables. The following pictures show the the work in progress.

All the work was carried out by club members. The second area has been prepared and the patio will be laid in the next week or so.
Two of the four leagues have opened and none of our five teams have had a win, so we can only hope that things improve in the coming weeks.
The first of the club's open competitions, the Round Robin Pairs will be held on Sunday May 12th at 10.00 AM (start and scratch). There are still a few vacancies and entries should be sent to Bill Hitchinson (closing date 6th May).
WELSH JUNIOR TEAM CALL-UP
Junior members Bryn Hughes and Dan Jones have both been selected to play for Wales at Aberegele B.C. on Sunday May 12th. We wish them both the very best in their debuts for Wales.
